MAJOR FLOOD ALLEVIATION SCHEME AT MYTHOLMROYD, ENGLAND

Sep 11, 2018

VolkerGround Engineering is well underway with piling work at Mytholmroyd Flood Alleviation scheme in West Yorkshire. The £30million contract has been awarded to main contractor VBA, a joint venture comprising VolkerStevin, Boskalis Westminster and SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business.

As part of the piling works, VolkerGround Engineering will be installing Z piles up to 14m long, using their Movax SG-75V side grip pile driver, which will go through glacial deposits and mudstone. Once the 121 linear metres of sheet piles have been installed, smaller piles will be installed around sensitive structures as part of the flood defence works.
