Limited access, no headroom – perfect for Movax in France

Sep 7, 2018

The extension of an existing sheet pile wall on the river Loire in France presented challenges both in regards to the access as well as to the available headroom. The intention of the sheet pile wall is to reduce silting of the catchment pools of the Saint Laurent Nouan nuclear power plant.

The access to the site is very limited as sandbanks prevent reaching the site by pontoon and high-voltage power lines prevent the usage of a crane. The only viable solution was to utilize a MOVAX SG-60V side grip pile driver mounted on a floating excavator. The MOVAX SG-60V proved to be perfect for the job thanks to the side grip technology which provides superior handling and driving capabilities.
