In late December MOVAX UK customer VolkerGround Engineering mobilised its team on site, with less than one weeks’ notice, to undertake emergency works at Southsea. The works were required to stabilise the sea defences after the existing sea wall was damaged by strong winds and high tides.

The team, with hired plant supplied by MOVAX's UK distributor and partner Watson and Hillhouse, worked for four days whilst battling against challenging weather conditions and a promenade which collapsed on a high tide between shifts, to install 98no. GU23N sheet piles, 10metres in length.

The emergency works were completed on time to protect the sea front over the Christmas period – testament to the hard work and commitment from members of our team and the operatives from Watson and Hillhouse.
